Highly recruited Kelsey Bone of Sugar Land Dulles, who was considering signing with the Texas A&M women's basketball program, announced during halftime of Wednesday night's McDonald's All-American game in Coral Gables, Fla., that she will sign with South Carolina.
The 6-foot-5 center who averaged 20.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game during her senior year had opted not to sign during the early signing period in November when she couldn't decide between the Aggies and Texas Longhorns.
Bone, who was the McDonald's All American Female Player of the Year, scored 10 points for the East in a 69-68 loss to the West.
Bone, who also considered Illinois, made the announcement on national television with her mother and younger brother alongside.
South Carolina was 10-18 under first-year head coach Dawn Staley, including a 2-12 record in the Southeastern Conference, which was a game ahead of last-place Alabama.
"I was really excited about the direction of their program," said Bone, who was the state's No. 2 recruit behind Aldine Nimitz's Brittany Griner, who signed with Baylor. "I know no one expected me to do this, but that's the way the cookie crumbles."

Comment Title: Boone
As much as i would love to see this talented lady suit up in the Maroon and White she choose another team. And i can see why, the womans program here is extremely special, and very talented and her playing time wouldnt be as great her freshman year, and in South Carolina she will get that time, and will be seen more as a star than a role player. I respect here decision and hold nothing against her, and wish her the best of luck

Comment Title: Bone Stay Home!
Hopefully Miss Bone will reconsider and stay closer to home. College Station is very close to Sugarland. Home cooked meals and friends/family are not far away. Reed Arena has a great atmosphere that her family can be a part of on Saturday afternoons. Not to mentions Coach Blair is molding a special program at A&M. How frequently will family/friends be able to make the trek to S. Carolina and see her play? It would be great to see a wonderful talent like her suit up for the Home team. I know she would represent TAMU well. Good luck.
