E-mail to a friend Texas A&M senior Morenike Atunrase is among 20 prospects invited to attend the 2008 WNBA Draft on at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Fla.
The 2008 WNBA Draft will begin at noon. ESPN2 (Ch. 28) will provide first-round coverage with continued coverage of the second and third rounds on ESPNU and NBA TV.
Atunrase, a 5-foot-10 combination guard/forward, averaged 10.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.4 steals per game last season.
Texas A&M point guard A'Quonesia Franklin is listed as a potential WNBA Draft pick on www.wnba.com.
The Aggies have had only two players drafted by the WNBA. Jaynetta Saunders (1999-01) was selected 27th overall by the Cleveland Rockers in the second round of the 2001 WNBA Draft, while Toccara Williams (2000-04) was selected 34th overall by the San Antonio Silver Stars in the third round of the 2004 WNBA Draft.
A&M women's basketball banquet April 17: Members of the Texas A&M women's basketball team will be honored at a banquet April 17 at 6 p.m. at The Zone Club at Kyle Field.
