Ammerman selected to national program

Texas A&M outside hitter Sarah Ammerman has been selected to the U.S. Women's Senior A2 National Team program, USA Volleyball announced recently.

The junior was one of 113 athletes to attend a three-day open tryout at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., in late February. A total of 22 players were selected from the open tryout and an invitation-only event in January.

All 22 players have remaining collegiate eligibility, and they will compete in the USA Volleyball Adult Open Championships on May 24-31 in Atlanta.
