Special to The Eagle
Destinee Hooker led Texas (10-0, 5-0 Big 12) with 17 kills and a .469 hitting percentage. Texas' Juliann Faucette had 14 kills, while Heather Kisner had 16 digs.
Jennifer Banse had 15 kills for A&M (9-3, 2-2), while Sarah Ammerman added 14.
Game 1 included 18 ties and seven lead changes, but Texas won when the Aggies committed back-to-back hitting errors. Games 2 and 3 weren't nearly as close with the Longhorns generally maintaining a 3- to 4-point cushion over the stretch runs.
The Aggies will host Kansas at 2 p.m. Saturday at Reed Arena.
