Aggie volleyball opens Big 12 play with victory

LUBBOCK -- Texas A&M opened Big 12 play with a 25-15, 25-11, 25-17 victory over Texas Tech at United Spirit Arena on Saturday.
The Aggies (8-1) hit a season-high .461 and won for the fifth straight time.
Tech (2-9) hist just .128 and lost for the fourth straight time.
Mary Batis led A&M with 13 kills, while Sarah Ammerman added 11 kills. Setter Jola Kelner, making her first start of the season, had 36 assists, and libero Tori Mellinger had a game- and career-high 15 digs.
A&M will host No. 8 Nebraska at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Reed Arena.
