AUSTIN -- The Texas A&M track and field team will send 70 athletes to the Texas Invitational on Saturday at Myers Stadium to open the outdoor season.

Admission to the meet is free. Field events begin at 11 a.m. with the women's hammer and men's javelin while running events start at 1:30 p.m. with the steeplechase. The meet will conclude with the 1,600-meter relay at 5:30 p.m.

The A&M women are the defending Big 12 outdoor champions and Midwest Regional champions. The Aggie women also won the 400 relay at the NCAA Outdoor Championships last season.
