Aggie freshman sets high school record in 110 hurdles: PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago -- Incoming Texas A&M freshman Wayne Davis won the 110-meter hurdles at the Pan American Junior Championships in a record time of 13.08 seconds at Hasley Crawford Field.
The effort by 17-year-old Davis breaks the national high school record of 13.30 set by Chris Nelloms in 1990 as well as the 12.9 hand-time set by Renaldo Nehemiah over yards set in 1977. Nehemiah's time converts to 13.14 seconds over meters.
The record is for 39-inch hurdles. College events use 42-inch hurdles.
