A&M women's NCAA first-round match set for noon

The Texas A&M women's tennis team will face Washington at noon May 9 in Stanford, Calif., in opening-round action of the NCAA Tournament.

A&M, third-place finisher in the Big 12, is 16-8. Washington, which tied for seventh in the nine-team Pacific 10 Conference, is 12-9.

In other first-round action at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium on the University of Stanford campus, No. 4 seed Stanford (19-4), the automatic qualifier from the Pac-10, and America East Conference automatic qualifier Boston University (11-7) face off at 3 p.m.

The first-round winners will meet at 2 p.m. May 10.
