Aggie wins event at Canadian national event: VICTORIA, British Columbia -- Former Texas A&M swimmer Julia Wilkinson won the women's 200-meter freestyle at the Canadian Summer National Championships on Wednesday at the Saanich Commonwealth Place.
Wilkinson finished in 1 minute, 58.95 seconds.
Five other Aggies or incoming A&M freshmen placed in the top 14 in other events, led by sophomore Tess Simpson's fourth in the women's 100 backstroke. Freshman Kyle Troskot placed fifth in the men's 50 butterfly; senior Melanie Dodds took eighth in the 200 butterfly; freshman Paige Miller placed 10th in the women's 50 butterfly and sophomore Kendra Chernoff took 11th in the 50 butterfly and 14th in the 200 butterfly.
