Aggie diver sets two school records in win: Texas A&M junior diver Jaele Patrick broke two school records to help the No. 6 Aggies dominate North Texas 178-112 on Saturday at the A&M Student Rec Center Natatorium.
Patrick swept the 1- and 3-meter springboard events while breaking her own A&M records. She scored 412.35 points on the 3-meter board, then broke the pool record on the 1-meter with 360.37 points.
A&M swept all 16 events including 13 in the pool with seven individual races won by seniors on "Senior Day." A&M senior Melissa Hain won the 100-meter freestyle and 400 individual medley. Kristen Heiss won the 100 and 200 backstrokes. Alia Atkinson won the 100 breaststroke. Sarah Woods won the 50 freestyle, and Julia Wilkinson won the 200 freestyle.
A&M also honored seniors Ella Doerge, Haley Haynes, Renee Iserman, Rebekah Love, Emily Neal and Emily Watson.
TENNIS
Aggie women to face LSU: The Texas A&M women's tennis team will face LSU at Dub Robinson Stadium in Baton Rouge, La., at 11 a.m. Sunday.
A&M (0-2) opened the season with losses to No. 14 Clemson and Illinois at last weekend's ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Clemson, S.C. The Aggies are ranked 36th in the ITA team rankings.
LSU (2-2) also lost both of its ITA Kick-Off matches and is ranked 42nd.
TRACK & FIELD
Aggies sweep team titles at New Balance Invitational: NEW YORK -- Texas A&M won five events and both team titles Saturday at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the Armory.
The Aggie women needed their third-place finish in the final event to pass BYU and defend their team title. Sandy Wooten, Andrea Sutherland, Donique Flemings and Jessica Beard finished the 1,600-meter relay in 3 minutes, 36.38 seconds for six points to give A&M 107 to BYU's 105.
A&M's women have won three of the last four New Balance Invitational team titles.
On the men's side, A&M's Demetrius Pinder, Bryan Miller, Kyle Dykhuizen and Tabarie Henry won the 1,600 relay in 3 minutes, 7.92 seconds to seal their team title. The Aggies had 99 points to LSU's 77 and Oklahoma's 68.
Zuheir Sharif defended his triple jump title with a school record leap of 54 feet, 3.75 inches, beating the previous mark set by Julian Reid last week (53-11.75). Sharif also took over the collegiate lead for this season.
A&M swept the 200 and 400 titles. Jeneba Tarmoh won the women's 200, and Jessica Beard won the women's 400. Curtis Mitchell took the men's 200, and Demetrius Pinder won the men's 400.
