Aggies returning for Alumni Game: Over 50 former players are set to play in the biennial Aggie Baseball Alumni Game at 2 p.m. Saturday at Olsen Field. Admission is free.
The event will begin at 1:15 p.m. with the national anthem, the Aggie War Hymn, a highlight video and lineups and player recognition. The alumni game has been held every other fall since beginning in 1992.
The group of former players spans six decades and include former major leaguers Casey Fossum, Trey Moore, Ryan Rupe and Jason Tyner.
SWIMMING & DIVING
Aggie men to open season Friday: MANSFIELD -- The Texas A&M men's swimming and diving team will open its 2009-10 season against Texas, Missouri and Southern Methodist this weekend at the Southwest Collegiate Plunge at the Mansfield ISD Aquatic Center.
The two-day, championship-style meet opens at 7 p.m. Friday with action starting Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Aggies placed 12th at last season's NCAA Championships and return seven All-Americans from that squad, including seniors Jason Bergstrom, Nathan Lavery and Casey Strange, junior Boris Loncaric and Balazs Makany and sophomores Cam McLean and Grant Nel. The finish was A&M's 14th straight in the Top 25, a school record for any sport.
TENNIS
A&M to host ITA regional: Texas A&M's men's tennis team will host the 2009 Wilson/ITA Texas Regional Championships on Saturday through Tuesday at the Mitchell Tennis Center. Admission is free.
The field includes 12 nationally ranked singles players and five ranked doubles teams.
A&M's Austin Krajicek is seeded fifth in the singles, while A&M's Krajicek and Jeff Dadamo are seeded fifth in the doubles.
Last year, A&M's Conor Pollock won the singles title, while Pollock and Krajicek won the doubles.
