Seven Aggies at World Championships: ROME -- Texas A&M is represented by seven athletes at the FINA World Championships, which began Friday at the Foro Italico.
Four of the Aggies -- Triin Aljand (Estonia), Shawn Clarke (Barbados), Alejandro Jacobo (Mexico) and Eric Sehn (Canada) -- have completed their eligibility at A&M. Rita Medrano (Mexico), Grant Nel (Australia) and Julia Wilkinson (Canada) will be back in action for the Aggies in 2009-10.
Nel and Sehn participated in the men’s diving competition Friday. Sehn finished seventh in the finals with 391.80 points after coming in eighth in the preliminaries with 369.80. Nel was 19th in the prelims with 327.65 and didn’t qualify for the finals.
Qin Kai of China won the competition with 449.00 points.
Aljand, Medrano and Wilkinson will compete in women's swimming, and Clarke and Jacobo will see action in the men's swimming competition.

Comment Title: Miller58 Clearly Confused
Miller58? Are you now saying that you would like to have had Trey Franks playing for A&M? What? But he is only a 3* recruit how can he possibly bring anything to A&M with only 3*? Are you afraid that these 3* recruits might actually have something to offer to a program? By your own rationale you should be thankful ou took the 3* recruit which leaves room for A&M to haul in 4* or 5* correct? Sherman doing a great job bringing in the players we need to turn this program around. If we had landed Franks, Miller58 would be complaining that we aren't getting good enough talent, what a joke. Sherman keep up the good work we will be hoisting that Big 12 title trophy soon.

Sherman is the man.....bringing in quality talent that we Aggies have not seen in years. Soon we will be hoisting the Big 12 title trophy. Keep up the good work Sherman and Staff.

My personal opinions:_____Despite Sherman's worse recruiting, A&M still has signed more 4*/5* player talent than 10 of the teams we play ths year!_____WE should win every game we play, except tu and ou, With just average coaching?_____Just look at the talent pool poor teams we play, and their low low rankings!_____#116 Utah State, #106 New Mexico, #95 UAB, #91 ISU, #76 K State, #66 Baylor, # 41 Colorado U, #31 tech, #26 Arkansas, and #10 okie lite!_____A&M has signed a larger talent pool than every one of them._____Next year, because of Sherman's terrible recruiting, a number of these teams will pass A&M in the talent pool?_____Really doesn't matter though, because Sherman's coaching is so bad, we'll lose more games than we win, both this year and next year._____But with more talent, most coaches would easily win 10 games this year, and with good coaching, might win 11 or 12?_____miller58
