SOFTBALL
Former A&M pitcher to play in Celebrity Softball Game: Three-time All-American and former Texas A&M softball player Megan Gibson will play in the 2009 Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday at Busch Stadium in St. Louis as part of Major League Baseball's All-Star game festivities.
ESPN360 will air the game at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, while ESPN will re-air it at 9 p.m. Monday.
Gibson and three other players will be representing the National Pro Fastpitch League (NPF). Gibson leads the Philadelphia Force with a .280 batting average. She also is 0-3 in the circle with 15 strikeouts in 22 innings.
Former A&M teammate, Jami Lobpries, also plays for the Force and is hitting .241 with a double and a home run this season.
SWIMMING
Pair of Aggies compete in 100 freestyle: Former Texas A&M swimmer Christine Marshall placed 12th in the 100 freestyle preliminaries, finishing in 55.56. She placed fourth in the consolation final at 55.76. A&M junior Sarah Woods placed 33rd in the prelims (56.67).
