A&M signee named Indiana Player of Year: Texas A&M softball signee Mel Dumezich was named the Gatorade Indiana Player of the Year on Tuesday.
Dumezich led Whiting High School to two undefeated seasons and two state championships, finishing her career with eight state records: 1,651 strikeouts, 107 victories, 73 shutouts, 32 no-hitters, 0.22 ERA, 116 games started and 194 runs scored.
