SOFTBALL

May selected for Under Armour All-America game: ORLANDO, Fla. -- Texas A&M incoming freshman Meagan May was one of 30 players selected to compete in Tuesday's Under Armour All-America softball game.

The game is part of the ESPN RISE Games, which began Sunday at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.

May was selected by a committee of high school softball experts from ESPN RISE. The game will be televised at 6 p.m. Saturday on ESPNU.

May, a Gatorade Player of the Year finalist, was a three-time academic all-district performer as a catcher at Klein Oak High School in Spring. As a junior she was a TSWA all-state selection.

Fellow incoming freshman Mel Dumezich participated in the Under Armour All-America Game in 2008.

TENNIS

Krajicek qualifies for singles draw at ATP Challenger event: Texas A&M All-American Austin Krajicek will make his first appearance in a singles main draw on the ATP Challenger Tour this week.

Krajicek, who is competing as an amateur on the USTA Pro Circuit, won three straight matches to earn a spot in the main draw of the Fifth Third Bank Tennis Championships that end Sunday in Lexington, Ky. He defeated Phillip Arndt in the opening round, 7-5, 6-1, and upset fourth-seeded Rodrigo Grilli in the second round, 7-6 (4), 6-2.

Krajicek completed his run with a 7-5, 6-7 (4), 7-5 victory over former Virginia All-American Treat Huey.

TRACK & FIELD

Edgar nears personal best; Facey, Willie win heats: RETHYMNO, Greece -- Texas A&M track and field athletes found success Monday at the Vardinoyannia meet.

Tyrone Edgar, recently third in the 100 meters at the British Championships, finished third with a season-best time of 10.09 seconds at Vardinoyannia. Edgar's career best is 10.06, accomplished last year.

Simone Facey ran in the women's 100, finishing fourth in 11.31. She won a B heat in the 200 with a time of 22.90, which was fourth best on the day.

The men's 200 B heat was won by A&M volunteer assistant coach Kelly Willie in 20.50. Willie's mark also was fourth best when adding marks from the A heat.
