Eagle Staff Report
Texas A&M reserve guard B.J. Holmes was on crutches Sunday and wore a boot Monday to protect the right foot he sprained in A&M's victory over Texas on Saturday.
"He's pretty sore," A&M head coach Mark Turgeon said. "He's a tough kid, but I think we'll move forward thinking we're not going to have him for sure on Wednesday. If he does come back, that would be nice for us."
The 23rd-ranked Aggies will play Oklahoma State on Wednesday at Reed Arena.
"I'm definitely not going to rush him back," said Turgeon, who said one of the bad decisions he made last season was allowing Josh Carter to play in the Big 12 Tournament. Carter, coming off an ankle injury suffered against Missouri in the regular-season finale, hit 2 of 6 field goals and scored 15 points in an 88-83 loss to Texas Tech.
"I'm going to do what's best for B.J. and his foot and our team in the end and the doctors will end up telling me what to do, too," Turgeon said.
