Eagle Staff Report
Texas A&M junior Donald Sloan has submitted his name for the 2009 NBA Draft but will not hire an agent, giving him the option of returning to the Aggies for his senior season.
"My dream has always been to play in the NBA," Sloan said. "I appreciate Coach [Mark] Turgeon's support as I go through this process. I love A&M and my teammates and if things don't work out in the draft, I'll come back and get ready for what could be a special season for us next year."
Sloan, a 6-foot-3 guard from Dallas, was the Aggies' second-leading scorer last season with an 11.8 points per game and led the team in assists with 3.1.
The NBA Draft is June 25.

Comment Title: Who cares....
miller 58 about your posts. So what about all your star players. What matters is the score at the end of the game. Having "star" players on your team doesn't guarantee anything. Heck, you can have all 12 players as 5 star recruits, but if they don't play defense, if they don't share the ball, if they don't do what the coach asks of them, and a slew of other things required to have a 'good' team. Your star recruits and all their glory will be for naught. Quit counting the stars (or seeing stars - whatever the case may be) and look at the big picture, i.e., coaching staff, entire makeup of the team, work ethic of players, discipline, etc, etc. When are you going to realize that players transitioning from HS to college is more than a star ranking next to their name in the latest and greatest basketball magazine? Perhaps attending several basketball games and learning the game and actually watchig the kids play is a good place to start.

Comment Title: A&M"S 2009 SIGNING CLASS ADDS A SHOOTING GUARD!
My personal opinions:_____3* Jeremy Adams 6-5 200 SG signed with A&M._____This gives A&M 1 four star player and 4 others in the 2009 signing class._____By contrast, tu signed the #5 nationally ranked 5* forward, the #8th nationally ranked 5* guard and the #64th nationally ranked 4* forward._____IN THE 2010 Signing class A&M has no five star and no four star players committed._____By contrast tu has the #5 nationally ranked 5* forward and the #16 nationally 5* ranked guard committed to the 2010 class!_____miller58
