Susan Kines Langston, 43, the daughter of former Texas A&M assistant head coach and defensive coordinator Joe Kines, was killed in an automobile accident Monday in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Kines' grandsons, Matthew and Joshua, were injured in the accident.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe and his wife, Rubye, and their entire family from the Aggie football team, the Texas A&M athletic department and the entire Aggie Network," Aggie head football coach Mike Sherman said.
Kines was at Texas A&M for two seasons, 2007-08.
He served four years (2003-06) as the Alabama assistant head coach, defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. He was the Crimson Tide interim head coach from the end of the 2006 regular season through the Independence Bowl.
