Aggie men third, trail Oklahoma State

TRINITY -- The Texas A&M men's golf team is in third place after carding a 7-over-par 583 in the first two rounds of the Big 12 Championship Golf Tournament at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity.

Oklahoma State is in first place at 9-under 567, while Texas is in second place at 6-over.

A&M's Matt Van Zandt is tied for eighth individually at even par after shooting 74 and 70. Van Zandt is four shots behind co-leaders Kevin Tway and Rickie Fowler of Oklahoma State.

Three Aggies are tied for 16th, as Andrea Pavan, Bronson Burgoon and Robert Gates Jr. all sit at 3-over. Ignacio Elvira is in 31st at 7-over with rounds of 75 and 76.
