Pavan, Burgoon make match play at Western Amateur: LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Texas A&M golfers Andrea Pavan and Bronson Burgoon finished in the top 16 in medal play on Thursday to advance to match play at the 107th Western Amateur Championship at Conway Lakes Golf Club.
The first two rounds of match play are Friday, followed by the semifinals and championship match Saturday.
Pavan tied for ninth with a one-under total of 69-68-72-74--283, while Burgoon tied for 12th at 71-73-68-73--285. Chen-Tsung Pan of Bradenton, Fla., captured medalist honors with scores of 74-70-67-69--280.
A&M incoming freshman Cameron Peck finished 18th at 73-71-74-69--287 and did not make the cut.

My personal opinions:_____No real surprise, ou continues to out recruit sherman by committing AY#30 Outside Linebacker Aaron Franklin 6-1 206 4.5._____ou has out recruited Mike Sherman since he was hired in 2007, from decommitting 4* safety Martin, from mike to ou, 3 days after his hire was announced, then decommitting 4* corner Harris to ou just days before 2008 signing day, up t just last week, ou committing two of Texas fastest players Athlete Franks and Safety Haynes, after turning down Sherman offers!_____A&M recruting since 2007 with commits from 4 classes under Sherman is a complete disaster and failure, putting us in last place!_____miller58 "I demand that Sherman recruit better than only 43% of tu, and up to or better than mac and stoops average 14 difference makers every year!"
