TENNIS

A&M men nip TCU: FORT WORTH -- The 14th-ranked Texas A&M men's tennis team won four singles matches to edge Texas Christian 4-3 in non-conference action Wednesday night at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

A&M (3-2) dropped the doubles point but came back strong in the six singles matches to defeat TCU (1-4) for the third straight time.

A&M's Conor Pollock and Austin Krajicek had straight-set victories at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively.

Marcus Lunt at No. 4 singles and Colin Hoover at No. 6 singles also had straight-set victories for the Aggies.

"Our guys fought hard and played really well tonight," Texas A&M head coach Steve Denton said. "I was very proud of this team and pleased with how well they responded in singles. Conor and Austin played solid and won a fairly comfortable first set in singles. They did not allow their opponents a momentum change and were able to sustain their matches. They put up some points and quickly responded for us."

Despite losing the doubles point, Pollock and Krajicek picked up their sixth straight victory at No. 1 doubles. It was Pollock's 50th career dual doubles match victory.
