TEMPE, Ariz. --The 17th-ranked Texas A&M men's golf team shot a 5-over 289 on Saturday and is in sixth place after two rounds of the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational at the Karsten Golf Course. The final round is Sunday.

Arizona State leads at 10-under 558, followed by Arizona State "B" at 565 and Colorado State at 568.

New Mexico's Kyle Nielsen leads the individual standings by one stroke with a 6-under 136. A&M senior Bobby Gates is tied for sixth at 140 with rounds of 69 and 71.

A&M senior Trey Todd and freshman Nacho Elvira are tied for 29th with rounds of 74 and 71, junior Matt Van Zandt is tied for 36th after shooting 70 and 76 while junior Bronson Burgoon is in 85th after an 81 and a 77.
