TENNIS
Aggies beat Wisconsin, Laredo CC: The 17th-ranked Texas A&M men's tennis team defeated No. 26 Wisconsin and the nation's second-ranked junior college team, Laredo Community College, on Sunday at the MItchell Tennis Center.
The Aggies beat Wisconsin 5-2 before sweeping Laredo 7-0.
A&M (6-2) started off by sweeping the Badgers (7-3) in doubles. Junior All-American Austin Krajicek and junior Jeff Dadamo clinched the point with an 8-3 victory over Michael Dierberger and Marek Michalicka at No. 1.
Wisconsin won the first set in four out of the six singles matches, but A&M fought back and took all four of those matches to three sets. Freshman Alberto Bautista rallied from an 0-6 first set to winning with a pair of 6-3 sets and his match at the No. 6 line. Dadamo also rallied, winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2.
Junior Alexey Grigorov won the first singles point for the Aggies in his match versus Chris Freeman in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 4. For the third time this season, Austin Krajicek clinched the match for A&M by upsetting seventh-ranked Moritz Baumann, 7-6 (5), 6-2.
Against Laredo, the Aggies swept the doubles point again. The sophomore Alexis Klegou and senior Marcus Lunt sealed the point.
Sophomore John Lewis clinched the match for the Aggies in his 6-1, 6-2 singles victory over Leury Arias.

GOLF
Aggies open season in Florida: PARRISH, Fla. -- The No. 16 Texas A&M women's golf team opens its spring season Monday at the Central District Invitational at River Wilderness Country Club.
The 54-hole tournament continues through Tuesday. Joining the Aggies in the 15-team field are Arkansas, No. 17 Florida, Kent State, No. 18 LSU, Michigan, No. 10 Michigan State, Missouri, Northwestern, Notre Dame, No. 24 Ohio State, No. 4 Purdue, No. 23 South Carolina, TCU and Texas.
Representing A&M will be senior Julia Boland, junior Sarah Zwartynski, freshman Chloe Garner, senior Ashley Freeman and junior Alexa Porter.
The Aggies won two tournaments in the fall and placed in the top four in four of five events. They overcame a 21-stroke deficit to win the Challenge at Onion Creek in Austin in their final fall tournament in November.
Boland led the Aggies in the fall, winning two individual titles and posting a team-best 72.00 stroke average.
