DALLAS -- Texas A&M senior golfer Bronson Burgoon continued an amazing two weeks Monday by earning one of two U.S. Open spots at a qualifier at Northwood Club.
Two weeks ago, it was Burgoon's wedge from deep rough to within inches that gave the Aggies the NCAA championship. On Monday, Bur-goon shot 4-under par (69-69--138) to finish second. Shawn Stefani of Baytown won the qualifier at 7-under (66-69--135).
The U.S. Open is June 18-21 at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y.
