Texas A&M true freshman wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones will have knee surgery Friday, the school announced Thursday.
Seals-Jones, who missed the Sam Houston State game, played in the second half against Alabama but didn't have a catch. The 6-foot-5, 225-pounder from Sealy had three catches for 84 yards in the opener against Rice, including a 71-yard touchdown catch.
Seals-Jones was rated the No. 1 wide receiver in the country by Scout.com, though he played quarterback. He missed much of his senior year at Sealy with a knee injury and returned for the last few games.
By playing in only two games this season, Seals-Jones will be eligible for redshirt and have four years of eligibility remaining.
