OKLAHOMA
Run the football: The Sooners can take pressure off a leaky offensive line and an inexperienced quarterback by rushing the football.
*
Start fast: OU is coming off one of its most frustrating games in head coach Bob Stoops' 11 years, scoring no touchdowns in a 10-3 loss to Nebraska. A quick TD would make 70,000 wearing crimson feel better.
*
Big plays in passing game: Heisman Trophy winner QB Sam Bradford is gone, but OU will still take shots deep with Landry Jones.
*
Consistent special teams: OU has hit only one of its last five field goal attempts.
TEXAS A&M
Use Johnson as a runner: Quarterback Jerrod Johnson needs to use his legs to loosen up OU's run defense, which allows only 2.7 yards per carry.
*
Pressure the Sooners: Nebraska forced Jones into five interceptions last week, giving the Sooners 13 turnovers in their four losses.
*
Don't give up the big play: A&M allowed Colorado to convert third-and-16 last week en route to the game-winning score. The Aggies allowed an 85-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown and a 97-yard kickoff return for a score in other losses this season.
*
Spread the field: A&M should have windows for success with its four- and five-wide receiver sets.
