Spring practice No. 12: The Aggies practiced only once Friday, inside the McFerrin Center for 70 minutes in helmets and shorts.
It was A&M's third mandated practice without pads of the spring's 15 allotted workouts.
*
Defense rebounds: The defense bounced back from losing Thursday's intrasquad action with a 68-46 victory Friday, pulling away during the red-zone segment, which ended practice.
*
Fuller, Dorman impress: Sophomore wide receiver Jeff Fuller had a few touchdown catches, the most impressive on a pass from junior quarterback Jerrod Johnson in the corner of the end zone despite excellent coverage from sophomore cornerback Justin McQueen. ... Redshirt freshman quarterback Tommy Dorman looked good, rolling slightly to his left and throwing a perfect pass down the sideline on one play. He later teamed up with sophomore wide receiver Nick Trice for a 50-yard plus touchdown pass.
*
Secondary shines: The secondary didn't give receivers much room in red-zone play, with senior defensive back Chevar Bryson having the most impressive pass deflection.
*
Faces in the crowd: Gen. Joe Weber, A&M's Vice President for Student Affairs, started a busy Parents Weekend and Ring Day schedule by watching along with Texas A&M linebacker signee Jonathan Stewart from Shreveport (La.) Byrd High School. ... Spring game student coach Greg Stuckenschneider watched his team go through its last tuneup before Saturday's game.

Comment Title: miller58, consider getting a life
My personal opinions___Bob French is the new Offensive Weather Coordinator for Sherman's staff___Bob was only a 3-star recruit from the O&M building___If the game is rained out, it will be Sherman and Byrne's fault for not hiring Dr. Neil Frank to forecast Offensive Weather___And this weather is offending me___Stephanie Abrams of The Weather Channel, now that would be a 5-star signing right there___How can we expect 20,000 fans to show up and see the game and ZZ Top if we don't have someone smart enough to predict the weather?___My personal opinions are that we should hold the game inside a giant wooden ark, built by the Construction Sciences department___But t.u. has all of the 5-star tools and blueprints___Byrne has left us with tools from the dollar store, while t.u. gets to use Mac and Snap-On___we are using 2-Star hammers, while t.u. and OU and LSU get to have a Lowe's and Home Depot account___when will the NCAA intervene on such improper tool benefits?___Lightning should be maroon. I have seen LSU purple lightning, t.u. orange sunsets, Baylor green grass, OU red roses, Tceh black ashtray bottoms, I have eaten Rice rice, and yet we never have anything maroon that occurs naturally. If Byrne spent as much on having the Genome Project develop a maroon flower or goat or dog as he did building that blimp hangar we call an indoor track facility, we would have more 5-star recruits___millerr58

Comment Title: A&M FALSELY INFLATING RECRUITING RANKINGS WITH LOW RANKING LEFTOVERS QUANTITY. WITH ALMOST LITTLE OR NO QUALITY OR DIFFERENCE MAKERS?
My personal opinions:_____Expect our difference maker recruiting to rank us down to #40, probably #50, and even as low as #60 this year!_____ Last class had us ranked tied with 7 other teams for #37 - #30 ?_____A&M IS DOING MUCH WORSE RECRUITING THIS YEAR< CAN YOU SAY WE SUCK?_____ Linebacker AY#38 Caleb Lavey 6-4 210 4.56 just turned down an A&M offer to commit to okie lite!_____Other A&M offers turned down just the last two weeks include: 4* corner Anterio Sloan 5-10 165 4.48 to nebraska, a 6-1 175 4.4 safety to ou, AY#30 OG Chad Linsay 6-3 307 to'bama and a 6-0 220 4.6 RB to michigan?_____That's 5 out of stat losses in just the past two weeks._____With only 1 four star and no 5 star commits and 14 others, Sherman is really getting down to the low ranked leftovers to falsely inflate our recruiting rankings with quantity?_____Almost all the top players have either committed or at least already made a choice other than A&M._____By comparison, tu has committed 17 four and five star difference makers to our only 1 four star._____ miller58
