Special to The Eagle

Kyle Field is one of 70 stadiums being considered as a candidate by the USA's bid committee to host World Cup matches in 2018 or 2022.

Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles are also being considered with historic venues like the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and Chicago's Soldier Field, which have already hosted World Cup matches, on the list.

Other Texas cities on the list are Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. Houston's Reliant Stadium and Rice Stadium are being considered as potential venues.
