BAYLOR
Get a good start: Baylor has been outscored 87-16 in the first half of the last three games.
*
Run the football: New Mexico and Texas Tech are the only teams that haven't run for at least 163 yards against the Aggies. Both lost.
*
Take shots deep: Colorado's Tyler Hansen and Oklahoma's Landry Jones looked like all-conference quarterbacks against the Aggies, throwing for 664 yards and six touchdowns on 45-of-71 passing. They had 10 completions of at least 20 yards.
*
Be better on third downs: Baylor ranks only 83rd in the country converting third downs (36.5), which will make it tough to keep pace with the Aggies who were over 50 percent until the last six quarters.
TEXAS A&M
Remember who and where you are playing: A&M has played well this year at Kyle Field, where it is 10-0-1 against Baylor in the last 11 meetings.
*
Rattle Florence: The Aggies need to pressure Baylor true freshman quarterback Nick Florence into mistakes. The Bears don't have the firepower to put up 250 yards rushing, but Baylor does have big-play receivers.
*
Catch the ball: No one will head to the concession stand or restroom when Baylor punts. The Aggies can't be giving away points or opportunities in the kicking game.
*
Get back to up-tempo football: Texas' fast-paced offense didn't give the Bears time to match up on defense, and the Longhorns rolled to a 40-0 halftime lead.
