Published Tuesday, May 05, 2009 6:05 AM
Gorrer played in 42 games at Texas A&M, starting 24. A knee injury sidelined him during part of his junior season. He finished his career with 141 tackles, including two sacks. He also had an interception and two forced fumbles.

Comment Title: AGGIE SPIN MACHINE SAID HUGE GAINS IN RECRUITING WITH NEW EVALUATIONS COMPLETED?
My personal opinions:_____Here are those huge 4*/5* gains by Sherman's great evaluations of recruits for his third signing class:_____ tu has 17 four and five star difference makers now after the new evaluations;__Florida 9;__ou 4;__usc 4;__Penn State 4;__A&M 2 ??????????_____Only 2 difference makers out of 16 commits is just about almost the worst evaluation can be; and not even one of them is on the defensive side of the ball where it's needed worst?_____But don't worry about depth: we have plenty of it!_____After Sherman was hired in November'07, With 24 players signed in Feb'08, 3 transfers signed, and another 28 signed in Feb'09, that's 2 to 3 players of depth at each every position on offense and defense that will be on campus this summer for workouts, about half for the second summer?_____If they turn out to be mostly slow, unathletic and smaller as it well appears, well that's on Sherman's lack of evaluation skills?_____miller58

Comment Title: Re; An uninspired, unmotivated Texas A&M football team poised to lose 9 games in 2009?
The two things that coaches like Pete Carroll, Urban Meyer, Saban, and Mack Brown have in common is that they are master motivators and keep a "buzz" around the program. This is the key thing that A&M doesn't have. If you look at the difference in statistics (first downs, 20yd+ runs, sacks, qb pressures, interceptions, pass break-ups, ect) between the '07 (Fran) and '08 (Sherman) seasons and do a little math you will see that there was a 30% lack in overall team effort in the '08 season when compared to the '07 season. This number balloons up to 83% when you look at the '07 and '08 tu games. The only improvement in effort came against tech. Isn't a head coach's job to inspire and motivate the team on gameday every week?

Comment Title: Re; Another Fran recruit with NFL caliber talent horribly coached by Mike Sherman?
Arkeith Brown signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Saints (the same team as D Gorrer). This means he had more talent and athleticism to be out other undrafted free agent talent from schools like tu, florida, ou, fsu, lsu, ect. How much more Fran-recruited talent is being wasted?

Comment Title: Sagarin team ranking
Sorry miller but that those stats only rely on our last year’s performance, which we all know, was bad. It has nothing to do with our coaching rank!!! Also we are ranked #89 not #99 good job on reading genius. And once again Go Gorrer, and good luck. Gig’em!!!

Comment Title: RE: Someone
My personal opinions:_____Someone, Goerrer was just one example; A&M had multiple players on both offense and defense signed to nfl rosters._____ An examination of the actual game minutes, these nfl ready players got last season under Sherman, can confirm what a lousy job of coaching was done.____The talent was there, the coaching simply wasn't._____It was stupid to play untested fish, only just because you recruited them, get blown out by 40+ points 7 times, and then rediculously say, what a good job was done?____I call Aggie Spin Machine bs!_____We didn't need Leach to point this out, although he was absolutely right; the rest of us already knew it!_____It was already confirmed by a national publication using the words "dead Last" refering to ranking our coaching, our #99 Sagarin team ranking, and our last place division finish?_____miller58

I think it gets back to why was gorrer on the bench if he was good enough to sign with the saints which is the same question leach had about mcgee although mcgee may/may not have been injured.

The depth chart on the team site has gorrer listed as a back-up to arkeith brown last year. Is that incorrect or is this more material for leach.

Comment Title: re- its the education
Education is like alcohol consumption. A little of it is not bad and is widely accepted in our society. Get too much of it and you develop severe personal and social problems. Just read these boards and posts by the self proclaimed "phd's" such as the one below for confirmation.

Comment Title: Come on now
Hey this article is about someone getting a shot at playing in the pros. Not recruiting!!! Good Gorrer, show what Aggies are made of. Thanks and Gig'em

Comment Title: WHY IS miller58's IQ 40+ POINTS WORSE THAN graduates of baylor, most high schools, and all Jr. colleges? IT'S THE EDUCATION STUPID - he went to tceh!
My personal opinions:_____In the past decade, college football boards have developed with varying opinions as in Raptor's, nactownag's, Ranger65's etc._____Ranger65 has been appointed to office twice now with his variation!_____The professional world didn't accept him; and so poor old miller58 has never done anything aside from delivering pizza, and has no hands on experience with women in various forms so his IQ will be 40+ points worse than almost any person you know? He proves this every day._____He cant make change at the door?_____It took 4 years for him to carry a calculator; and he still hasn't learned how to break a $20?_____Similarily, he has just had almost no hands on experience in a real classroom where he could have obtained a real education; and hence is 40+ points worse at testing, too!_____IT'S THE EDUCATION STUPID!_____miller99

My personal opinions:_____In the past decade, college football has developed the spread, run pass option, with numerous variations as in Leach's, Meyer's, Rodriguez's etc._____Urban Meyers has won the mnc twice now with his variation!_____The pros didn't adopt it yet; and so poor old Mike, Nolan, Rosseley and kines have never run it, or have almost no hands on experience defending its various forms so our coaching will be 40+ points worse than almost any team we face?We provedthis last year._____We face almost exactly the same problem with recruiting?_____It took 4 signing classes before we even started making early offers; and this staff still hasn't learned it takes the use of people oriented skills to successfully commit and keep todays top athletes?_____Similarily, our 10 coaches just had almost no hands on experience in signing top athletes for 5 years prior to joining A&M; and hence are 40+ points worse in recruiting, too!_____IT'S THE COACHING STUPID!_____miller58
