Texas A&M sophomore cornerback Dustin Harris posted the first defensive touchdown of the year with a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter. It was the first "pick-six" since current football graduate assistant coach Jordan Peterson returned an interception 48 yards for a score against New Mexico in 2008. It was the first defensive touchdown of any sort since defensive end Paul Freeney scooped up a fumble and rumbled 58 yards for a touchdown against Army in 2008.
*
Junior wide receiver Jeff Fuller had a pair of receiving touchdowns against SFA, which increased his career total to 18, which is just one shy of Bob Long's 42-year old school record of 19 set from 1966-68.
*
Ryan Tannehill, Jeff Fuller and Cyrus Gray all had a reception against SFA, which increased their consecutive games with at least one catch to 25 (Tannehill), 21 (Fuller) and 15 (Gray). The school record is 29 games by Martellus Bennett.
*
Jerrod Johnson threw for two touchdowns against SFA, which increased his streak of games with at least one passing TD to 19, which is the second-longest in the Football Bowl Subdivision (31 by Case Keenum, Houston).
*
SFA senior quarterback Jeremy Moses is the school's career leader in completions, passing yards, total offense and touchdown passes. The defending Southland Conference co-Player of the Year solidified his record in all of those categories, completing 19 of 37 for 171 yards and a touchdown.
*
The loss dropped the Lumberjacks' record to 2-9 all-time versuse NCAA Division I FBS opponents. SFA first played an FBS opponent in 1988 when it lost to Southern Mississippi and quarterback Brett Favre, 21-7.
*
The Lumberjacks played their first game against Texas A&M since the teams last met in 1935.
*
Dustin Harris' interception return for a Texas A&M touchdown against Moses was the first since Dominique Harris returned an interception 12 yards for North Dakota on Sept. 26, 2009.
