FIRST QUARTER
Helping his own cause: On Oklahoma's 25-yard touchdown run by Ryan Broyles, quarterback Landry Jones through the key block on the reverse play. The freshman took out Texas A&M defensive lineman Spencer Nealy, who in turn knocked down teammate Eddie Brown as Broyles went by on the outside.
Getting on the board: A&M's Randy Bullock's 34-yard field goal with 2:45 remaining in the first quarter were the first points scored against OU in the opening quarter all season.
Key stat: A&M had nine plays of 7 or more yards.
SECOND QUARTER
Drops costly: A&M tight end Jamie McCoy had two drops. The second would have been for a first down on a drive that started at midfield with the Aggies trailing by only four.
Secondary has moments: A&M's Jordan Pugh broke up a pass intended for Broyles down the middle of the field. A&M's Trent Hunter got around Desmon Jackson to bat down a pass and force a punt on OU's first drive of the second quarter.
Key stat: A&M had 13 plays from scrimmage and only 23 yards, 13 on one play.
THIRD QUARTER
Murray time: OU running back DeMarco Murray made the Aggies look silly just after halftime, covering about 100 yards of ground on a 67-yard screen for a touchdown. He had 129 yards on nine touches in the period.
Secondary struggles: A&M's Justin McQueen was called for an obvious pass interference penalty on a long pass that he would have had to wait for if he had turned around. Pugh and Hunter, usually sure tacklers, both missed tackles that allowed long Sooner gains.
Key stat: Jones hit 7 of 11 passes for 207 yards.
Fourth Quarter
No letting up: Up 58-10, Jones threw for his fifth touchdown of the game, a 10-yarder to Adron Tennell, who had two TD catches.
Tannehill time: Ryan Tannehill replaced Jerrod Johnson at quarterback and threw for 52 yards on 3-of-7 passing. He was sacked three times on the one drive.
Key stat: OU's Jermie Calhoun ran the ball final six plays, taking up the last 4:11 of the game.
