Student tickets for road games and the game against Arkansas in Arlington will go on sale at 8 a.m. Thursday. A student must hold a sports card, an all-sports option or football-only option to purchase tickets to away games.
Monday is the standard day for seniors and graduate students who have the sports card option to pull tickets for the Aggies' season opener against New Mexico on Sept. 5 at Kyle Field. Juniors follow on Tuesday, sophomores on Wednesday and freshmen on Thursday.
Also, A&M graduates from 1999-2009 can purchase tickets to the New Mexico game at half price. There is a limit of four tickets. When ordering, use the class year (1999 for example) as the promotion code. For more ticket information go online at AggieAthletics.com or call 1-888-99-AGGIE (888-992-4443) or 845-2311.
SOCCER
Peterson earns honors: Texas A&M soccer team senior defender Emily Peterson was selected as a candidate for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.
She was one of 30 women's soccer senior student-athletes nominated for the award. She was one of three student-athletes selected from the Big 12.
The All-Big 12 performer maintains a 3.89 grade point average and is a two-time member of both ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District first team and the Academic All-Big 12 first team.
TENNIS
A&M men add five players: The Texas A&M men's tennis team has added five players -- junior transfer Jeff Dadamo from the University of Florida, freshman Alberto Bautista, junior transfer Jack Seider from Texas Christian, sophomore transfer John Lewis from the University of Alabama and freshman Beau Blackshear.
Dadamo was rated the No. 4 overall prospect in the class of 2007 by the Tennis Recruiting Network and was ranked No. 108 in singles and No. 22 in doubles in the preseason ITA rankings release last fall. Dadamo compiled a 33-15 dual match record playing primarily at No. 4 singles for the Gators as a sophomore.
Bautista was ranked as high as No. 2 in Texas. He was rated the No. 25 overall prospect in the class of 2008 by the Tennis Recruiting Network and chose Texas A&M over Boston University, Florida State, Miami (Fla.) and Texas. Bautista, who focused on international play in juniors, was ranked as high as No. 318 in the world in the ITF rankings.
Seider was rated the No. 55 overall prospect in the class of 2007 by the Tennis Recruiting Network while attending Lighthouse Christian Academy. Last year, Seider played primarily at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles for the Horned Frogs. Lewis was rated the No. 33 overall prospect in the class of 2008 by the Tennis Recruiting Network and was ranked as high as No. 23 nationally in USTA 18's. Last season, Lewis compiled an 8-2 record in fall tournament play and was ranked No. 106 in singles in the preseason ITA rankings.
Blackshear was a top junior player in the USTA Southern Section while attending Brentwood High School.
