BASKETBALL

Men's team to play on TV on Thanksgiving Day: ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Texas A&M's men's basketball team will face the ACC's Clemson in the first round of the 76 Classic at 3:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the Anaheim Convention Center in a nationally televised game on ESPN2 (Ch. 28).

The eight-team field includes Butler, Long Beach State, Minnesota, Portland, UCLA and West Virginia. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket-tournament format. All 12 games will be televised on ESPN's networks.

FOOTBALL

Gray on Doak Walker Award list: DALLAS -- Texas A&M running back Cyrus Gray is on the list of 46 candidates for the 2009 Doak Walker Award, the Guaranty Bank SMU Athletic Forum announced Tuesday.

The sophomore from DeSoto is A&M's top returning rusher after gaining 363 yards on 75 carries last season.

GOLF

Top Australian amateur to join A&M women's team: Julia Boland, the top-ranked amateur in Australia, will join the Texas A&M women's golf team this fall, head coach Trelle McCombs said Tuesday.

Boland received her bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney last spring and will attend graduate school. She will have one year of eligibility with the Aggies.

Boland won the 2009 Trans National Amateur last month in Tennessee and is competing in the U.S. Women's Amateur this week in St. Louis. She posted rounds of 71-75--146 in stroke play and will advance to match play, which begins Wednesday.

SOCCER

A&M games to be broadcast on Internet: All Texas A&M soccer matches will be broadcast for free through Aggie All-Access on the Internet at AggieAthletics.com.

Home matches will include live video and audio while the road matches will be audio only.

David Ellis, a 10-year public address announcer and the voice of the Hardin-Simmons University soccer team during the 2008 season, will serve as the play-by-play announcer. Elvis Takow, A&M soccer's volunteer assistant coach for the past four seasons, and Curt Magnuson, the Aggies' current director of soccer operations, will share duties as the color commentator.

A&M will face Alabama-Birmingham in an exhibition match Aug. 15 at the Aggie Soccer Stadium.
