Sisk earns weekly honors: Texas A&M senior Lindsey Sisk was named the College Sports Madness Softball National Pitcher of the Week and the magazine's Big 12 Player of the Week.

Sisk earned victories over Sam Houston State, North Carolina State and Texas-San Antonio last week. The right-hander threw 20 1/3 innings, striking out 14 and walking four.

SWIMMING & DIVING

Aggie women set Big 12 record: COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team set the conference record in the 200-yard medley relay Wednesday at the Big 12 Championships, winning the event in 1 minute, 36.02 seconds to break the former best time set last season by A&M.

A&M junior Tess Simpson, sophomore Breeja Larson, sophomore Paige Miller and sophomore Erica Dittmer also earned a spot in the NCAA meet with an A cut time.

"Any time we can break the school, meet and conference record by six-tenths of a second, that's pretty impressive," Aggie head coach Steve Bultman said. "It was a great way to start the meet off. They were solid all the way through. Obviously Breeja and Paige were really good, but it was really good leadoff split for Tess and a good anchor for Erica. I think we can even still go faster."

A&M leads the meet through two events with 74 points to Texas' 72. Missouri is third at 66 followed by Kansas (60) and Iowa State (56).

The tournament continues through Saturday at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.

Aggie men in lead at Big 12s: COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Texas A&M men's swimming and diving team used a pair of runner-up finishes in the relays and a good showing in diving to take the early lead at the Big 12 Championships on Wednesday.

A&M's Hayden Jones took third on the men's 1-meter springboard with teammates Adam Ruiz, Antonio Page-Kahn and Paul Xiques finishing 5-6-7 to give the Aggies 55 points.

A&M also took second in the 800-yard freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay to finish Day 1 with 123 points. Texas is second at 115 with Missouri third at 92.

The meet continues through Saturday at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
