Texas A&M pitcher/outfielder Brooks Raley and outfielder Kyle Colligan were selected on the second day of the Major League Baseball draft along with former Bryan High catcher Chris Court, who is pitching for Stephen F. Austin.
Raley, a sophomore left-hander, was taken in the sixth round (200th pick overall) by the Chicago Cubs as a pitcher, and senior Colligan was picked in the 12th round (373rd) by the Chicago White Sox.
Court, a junior right-hander, was taken in the 23rd round by the Boston Red Sox (708th).
A&M also had two signees drafted Wednesday. K.C. Hobson, an outfielder from Stockdale, Calif., and son of former Boston Red Sox third baseman Butch Hobson, was drafted in the sixth round by Toronto. Junior college outfielder Cody Rogers of Panola JC was drafted in the seventh round by Tampa Bay.
Raley was 7-3 last season pitching for the Aggies with a 3.76 earned run average. He struck out 95 batters in 93.1 innings, holding opposing hitters to a .237 average. Raley also hit .304 with 19 doubles, 26 RBIs and 25 stolen bases.
Colligan started all 61 games, hitting .288 with 15 home runs and 45 RBIs.
Court converted to pitching at Hill College, playing two seasons after redshirting. He had 28 appearances as a reliever at SFA this season with a 3.95 ERA in 41.1 innings. He struck out 38 and walked 16 with batters hitting .215.
Court's mother, Debra Court, said her son's dream was to play professional baseball, and she expects him to sign with the Red Sox and forgo his senior season.
The MLB draft will conclude with the final 20 rounds Thursday starting at 10:30 a.m.
A&M had a player and two signees drafted Tuesday. Junior pitcher Alex Wilson was a second-round pick of the Boston Red Sox. Brownwood pitcher Shelby Miller was picked 19th overall by the St. Louis Cardinals and Waco Midway outfielder Todd Glaesmann went in the third round to Tampa.

Comment Title: Baseball amature draft system soooo much better than NFL!
IMO.. A baseball nut here.. We don't see nearly the level of illegal crap (talking payoffs and academic negligence) that football and basketball kids experience. This 1 and done is the dumbest rule I ever heard! And we all know college football is the minor leagues? Why not pay the players? Maybe defer out some $$ when they go pro.. do something NCAA. - ok, my rant is over!
