BASEBALL
SFA jumps on Aggies for big third: Stephen F. Austin scored all seven of its runs with two outs in the third inning and held on for a 7-6 victory over Texas A&M on Wednesday afternoon before 2,492 fans at Olsen Field.
A&M's John Stilson led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a triple, but SFA pitcher Jason West retired the next three batters in order to seal the win.
A&M starter Clayton Ehlert (0-1) suffered the loss, giving up eight hits and seven runs over 2 2/3 innings while striking out three. Freshman Michael Wacha and Stilson combined for 6 1/3 innings of relief, allowing three hits and striking out eight.
A&M (3-1) will face Western Kentucky at 6 p.m. Friday at the QTI Baylor Classic in Waco. A&M will play Baylor at 1 p.m. Saturday and Texas State at 5 p.m. Sunday.
BASKETBALL
A&M president to speak at luncheon: Texas A&M president Dr. R. Bowen Loftin will be the guest speaker at the Aggie women's basketball luncheon Thursday at Reed Arena.
Luncheons are held in the women's basketball practice gym at the Cox-McFerrin Center For Aggie Basketball from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $10 (cash or checks only) per person. Parking is available in Lot 100-G.

SOFTBALL
Aggies travel to Cathedral City Classic: The No. 24 Texas A&M softball team is set to play five games at the Cathedral City Classic in Cathedral City, Calif., beginning Thursday.
The Aggies (10-1) will face Fordham at 5:30 p.m. and Oregon at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, UNLV and San Diego State on Friday and No. 10 Stanford on Saturday.
SWIMMING & DIVING
Aggies start strong at Big 12 Championships: The Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team is tied for first while the men's team is in second at the Big 12 Championships at the Student Recreation Natatorium on Wednesday.
After the first of four days, the No. 7 Aggie women are tied with No. 3 Texas with 74 points with Missouri and Kansas tied for third at 62. In the men's race, the top-ranked Longhorns are in the lead with 113 points with the Aggies (110) in second and Missouri (107) in third.
A&M won the women's 800-yard freestyle relay as senior Kristen Heiss, senior Melissa Hain, freshman Maureen McLaine and senior Julia Wilkinson finishing in an NCAA "A" cut time of 7 minutes, 1.63 seconds.
A&M senior Jason Bergstrom, sophomore Amini Fonua, junior Boris Loncaric and senior Casey Strange qualified for the NCAA Championships with a runner-up finish in the men's 200 medley relay (1:25.51).
The A&M men placed second in the 800 free relay while the A&M women's team placed second in the 200 medley relay
The A&M men's diving crew scored 42 points on the 1-meter springboard with sophomore Grant Nel taking second (375.15), senior Henry Stevens fifth (303.85) and sophomore Blake Ferguson eighth (238.35).
