BASKETBALL
Starks signs overseas: Former Texas A&M women's basketball guard Takia Starks signed with the Go For 2&5 Perth Lynx for the 2009-10 Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) season in Australia.
Starks will be one of two American-born players on the Lynx roster, joining Danielle Campbell from Purdue. Starks will join the team next month for preseason training. The WNBL season runs from October through March.

Texas Wildlife Association re-elects Wilkins: Texas A&M professor Neal Wilkins was re-elected vice president of the Texas Wildlife Association (TWA) by a unanimous vote of the board of directors at the organization's 24th annual convention in San Antonio.
The certified wildlife biologist currently, who is a professor in A&M's Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences, serves as director for the A&M Institute of Renewable Natural Resources.
Wilkins is a trustee of the Texas Wildlife Association Foundation and the Foundation for Research on Economics and the Environment. He was recently appointed by Gov. Rick Perry to serve on the Texas Farm & Ranch Conservation Council.
FOOTBALL
Texas A&M senior tight end Jamie McCoy was named to the watch list for the John Mackey Award, which is annually given to best tight end in college football.
McCoy had 43 catches for 500 yards and five touchdowns last year in his first full season at tight end.
Other Big 12 tight ends among the 31 named were Colorado senior Riar Geer, Oklahoma senior Jermaine Gresham, Texas junior Blaine Irby, Kansas State senior Jeron Mastrud and Nebraska junior Tony Moeaki.
TENNIS
Krajicek reaches quarterfinals: Texas A&M All-American Austin Krajicek reached the quarterfinals of the singles main draw at the Lewis and Clark Community College USTA Men's Futures Tennis Tournament held in Godfrey, Ill.
He upset third-seeded and No. 414 world-ranked American Michael McClune, 6-3, 6-4, in the round of 16. Krajicek moved past the first round with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory over fellow American Jordan Cox, who recently reached the finals of Junior Wimbledon.
Former A&M player Conor Pollock also advanced past the first round with a 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3 victory over fourth-seeded and No. 653-ranked Matej Bocko of Slovakia. Three-time All-American Pollock won two-straight matches in the qualifier to earn a spot in the singles main draw.
