A&M men in Hawaii: The 12th-ranked Texas A&M men's golf team will open the spring season at the 36th annual 54-hole John A. Burns Intercollegiate on Wednesday.
The Aggies are part of an 18-team field that includes four other Top 25 teams -- defending champion and 10th-ranked California, 14th-ranked UNLV, 17th-ranked Duke and 25th-ranked New Mexico. The field also includes Arizona, BYU, BYU-Hawai'i, Colorado State, Denver, Fresno State, Hawai'i-Hilo, Missouri, Nevada, SMU, Utah, UTEP and host Hawai'i.
Senior All-American Jordan Russell (71.7 stroke average) and junior All-American Cameron Peck (71.5) will lead the Aggies. Joining them will be redshirt freshman Greg Yates, who recorded a team-best 69.7 average this fall, senior Geoff Shaw (73.2) and true freshman Ty Dunlap (74.3). Junior Case Cochran (73.7) will compete as an individual.
