Eagle Staff Report
Mesquite Horn cornerback De'Vante Harris has verbally committed to Texas A&M. He posted a Facebook message about his commitment late Monday night.
The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder de-committed from Oklahoma a week ago.
Harris shined in January's Under Armour All-American game and quickly scheduled visits to Ohio State, A&M, Texas Tech and TCU. The first of the scheduled visits was last weekend to A&M.
Harris is the son of former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Rod Harris. He was the District 11-5A MVP last season.
Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day a football pledge from the Class of 2012 can sign a letter of intent is Feb. 1.
