Aggie swimmers in 11th at women's NCAA meet

AUSTIN --The Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team won a pair of consolation finals on the first day of the NCAA Championships on Thursday at the Jamail Texas Swim Center.

A&M sits in 11th place in the team standings with 39 points. Georgia is in first at 129 with USC (122) in second and Stanford (116) in third. Texas (68) is in seventh.

A&M freshman Cammile Adams won the 500-yard freestyle consolation final in 4 minutes, 37.81 seconds. A&M's 400 medley relay team of Tess Simpson, Breeja Larson, Kendra Chernoff and Lili Ibanez also won the consolation final in 3:31.80.

The meet continues Friday and wraps up Saturday.
